Mykonos island is located in the middle of the Aegean Sea, on the northern part of Cyclades islands complex. Its rather rough landscape forms low rocky hills that end up on sandy beaches, that most of them are well organized with restaurants and beach clubs that offer their sunbeds under the umbrellas’ shadow, well protecting visitors from the hot greek summer sun.
The island’s main village and capital is Mykonos Town. It is located on the western side of the island and only 3 kilometres southern than the main harbour of Tourlos. Mykonos Town is limited by its lovely waterfront and the hills around it, forming an ambience full of summer bits and breathtaking views of the sea. Next to Mykonos, you may find the sacred island of Delos, one of the most important archaeological sites in Greece. There are daily excursions from Mykonos Town and a visit there is a must, considering all the ancient wealth that consists of unique statues and temples.
Most of the beaches that worth a visit in Mykonos, are located on the south and the best way to visit them all, is definitely the taxi boat that runs several times per day and sets off either from Ornos or Platis Gialos.
What makes Mykonos famous though, is its loud day and night clubs, either inside the town or at Paradise and Super Paradise beach, that arrange parties with some of the world’s most well known djs.
